Project Description
"Blue-and-White" is an augmented reality application that shows the cross-cultural stories between Ming Chinese Blue-and-White pottery and Safavid Iranian Blue-and-White pottery. As a case study, it presents and demonstrates the argument that mixed reality technology can be effectively utilized to create a platform in which cross-cultural links between artefacts can be represented dynamically and interactively, to formulate a more diverse narrative about the history and material life, for museum audiences. By augmenting the narrative, the museum space can become a powerful platform to help audiences raise awareness of intercultural dialogue.
